Vigan City: A Journey Through Time

Image
Vigan City, located in the province of Ilocos Sur, is one of the most beautiful and historic places in the Philippines. Known for its well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture, Vigan has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, making it a true treasure of Filipino culture and history. Walking through its cobblestone streets feels like stepping back in time. The city is famous for Calle Crisologo, a street lined with old Spanish-era houses made of bricks, wood, and capiz shells. Horse-drawn carriages called kalesas still travel along the road, adding to the charm and old-world atmosphere. At night, the soft glow of streetlights makes the entire area even more magical, reminding everyone of the city’s rich past. Beyond its architecture, Vigan is also known for its culture and traditions. Visitors can watch pottery-making in Pagburnayan, taste the delicious Vigan longganisa and empanada, or enjoy local festivals that celebrate the city’s heritage. The people of Vigan are proud...

My Reflection on the 2nd Quarter in ICT

Image
As the second quarter of our ICT (Information and Communications Technology) class comes to an end, I’ve realized how much I have grown in both knowledge and skills. This quarter was filled with new lessons, challenges, and discoveries that helped me understand the importance of technology in our everyday lives. One of the most valuable things I learned was how to apply ICT concepts more effectively. Whether it was creating documents, designing simple websites, or exploring digital tools, I became more confident in using technology responsibly and creatively. I also learned the importance of accuracy, patience, and attention to detail—qualities that are essential when working on ICT projects. This quarter also taught me the value of collaboration. Many of our activities required teamwork, and I learned how to communicate better with my classmates and share ideas. Through group projects and discussions, I discovered that learning becomes more enjoyable and meaningful when we support one...

Climate Change: A Global Call to Action

Image
Climate change is one of the most pressing issues facing humanity today. It refers to the long-term alteration of temperature and weather patterns, mainly caused by human activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial pollution. These activities release large amounts of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere, trapping heat and causing the Earth’s temperature to rise. The effects of climate change are already visible across the globe. Rising sea levels threaten coastal communities, while stronger typhoons, floods, and droughts disrupt lives and livelihoods. Polar ice caps are melting, leading to the loss of habitats for species like polar bears and penguins. Meanwhile, in many parts of the world, farmers struggle with unpredictable weather that affects food production and water supply. However, climate change is not only an environmental problem—it is also a social and economic one. Poorer nations, which contribute the least to globa...
