Celebrating the 124th Foundation Day of Ilocos Sur National High School
The 124th Foundation Day of Ilocos Sur National High School (ISNHS) was a meaningful celebration that honored more than a century of learning, tradition, and community. Established in 1902 as the Ilocano Normal School to train primary teachers during the American colonial period, the school has grown into one of the oldest and most respected high schools in the region, providing quality education to generations of students.
The celebration brought together students, teachers, school staff, and even alumni to commemorate the school’s long history and accomplishments. Throughout the celebration, there was a strong sense of unity and pride that could be felt everywhere you looked. Students rehearsed performances, participated in field demonstrations, and took part in activities that showcased their talents and school spirit. Teachers offered guidance and support, ensuring that every student felt included and prepared. Classmates cheered each other on, helping one another remember routines, polish skills, and enjoy every moment of the event.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the parade where students marched with pride, carrying banners and wearing school colors. The field demonstrations and performances were filled with energy and creativity, reflecting not only the hard work of the students but also the encouragement they received from their teachers and friends. These events highlighted how teamwork, discipline, and cooperation play important roles not only in celebrations but in everyday school life.
Reflecting on the 124th Foundation Day, I realized just how much ISNHS means to us as students. The celebration was not just about marking another year—it was about honoring the legacy of those who came before us and the continuous commitment of teachers who shape our future. It reminded us that education is a journey we take together, supported by classmates, encouraged by friends, and guided by our mentors. The 124th Foundation Day was a celebration of our shared history, our present achievements, and the bright future we are building as members of the ISNHS community.
